From June until the beer rolls for Oktoberfest, Big Bear is the place where families go to have fun. Every weekend there is something special happening. The Big Bear Music In the Mountains concert series calendar is loaded with the best rated tribute bands. The concerts, the hikes, the mountain biking and the water all bring families into Big Bear. 4 days and 4 nights is no long enough time to get in the all most popular attractions.

Scenic Sky Chair
Now Open

The Sky Chair at Snow Summit is the all time favorite activity for visitors. The chairlift at the resort is transformed so that hikers can ride to the top and hike back down. Yes, it's easier to hike down then up and the trails are over a mile long. The views at the top are magnificent.

Bear Mountain Golf Course
Now Open

Enjoy a round at altitude. Come play the 9-hole, mountain-style Bear Mountain Golf Course located at the base of Bear Mountain Resort in the meadow area. It's a great way to be outdoors among the pines, fresh air and surrounded by our majestic mountains.

Mountain Bike Park Opening

With great price, the Big Bear Mountain Bike Park opens after a lot of snow from the past winter. Finally the snow will be gone, the tracks ready to roll and everything in place for the most fun rides you can experience. Join us for opening day festivities, music and good drinks.

Kodiak Kids Trail Races
Every Thursday in August at Snow Summit

The kids learn, compete and work out on the Kodiak Trail Runs which also teach them about trail running, helps build self-esteem, and teaches kids to set and reach goals. The kids are encouraged to pursue an active lifestyle and inspire them to learn to overcome obstacles in life. The trail runs offer kid-friendly distances from 1.5-3 miles. Big Bear Air Faire Air Show

A tradition in Big Bear is the giant Air Fair starting at 9:00 AM with shows, helicopter rides and a look at the thrill of aviation with vintage places, classic cars and sky diving exhibitions. Lots of food, and fun

Renaissance Faire
Every Saturday and Sunday in August

Merry old England comes this year to the north shore with crafts, costumes, food and games. Like the joust match from years gone by, the shire will be filled with stages of ongoing shows performing every half-hour. There is an arena for the jousts and the Great Square for pirate battles, maypole dances, and other fun for all ages. Come in costume, order up a big Turkey Leg King Henry style and wash it down with some ale.

Back for another great sell out event, The Long Run has been Big Bear's favorite tribute band. The Los Angeles group is composed of musicians who have a deep appreciation the the arrangements of The Eagles. They close out the music services with a great performance on Labor Day Weekend.

Oktoberfest returns for a 8 weekends of fun, singing and suds! The festivities get started on September 8 and run every weekend until October 28. You'll want tickets for your suds, you'll want to get costumes for the kids, and you'll want to call us to get your lodging so close to the festival you can walk. More info and tickets
